About the Rock Island Armory M1911 A1-FS .45 ACP Pistol, Patriot Brown
The M1911 A1-FS is Armscor's full-size service pistol, built on the pattern John Browning drew and still made the plain, sturdy way. It is a single-action .45 with no gadgets to learn: load it, thumb the safety down, and it shoots.
Where it departs from the original A1, it does so for the better. The mainspring housing is flat rather than arched, the ejection port is lowered so brass leaves cleanly, the beavertail is thinned to sit comfortably in the hand, and the magazine well is bevelled to help a reload find its way home.
Finished in Patriot Brown Cerakote with G10 grips in the Desert Storm pattern, it is an affordable 1911 that does not feel like a cheap one, and it is well suited to range work and home defence alike.
