PTR VENT 3 – 5.56X45MM SUPPRESSOR

The PTR VENT 3 – 5.56×45mm Suppressor is a lightweight, high-performance 5.56 suppressor engineered to deliver exceptional sound-signature suppression with reduced back pressure on semiautomatic rifle platforms. Designed specifically around the demands of 5.56, the VENT 3 combines advanced additive manufacturing with PTR’s patented Purposely Induced Porosity™ (PIP) technology to manage sound, gas flow, and weight as part of the complete suppressed weapon system.

At the core of the VENT 3 is a monolithic, 3D-printed titanium structure that allows PTR to engineer complex internal geometry directly into the suppressor. PIP uses controlled porous structures and gas pathways to manage expanding combustion gases through increased surface interaction, heat transfer, and controlled flow. Rather than relying exclusively on a traditional restrictive baffle architecture, the VENT 3 is designed to maintain high gas flow while delivering strong suppression—helping reduce the back-pressure effects that can influence gas at the shooter, port signature, and weapon behavior on semiautomatic 5.56 platforms.

Independent testing provides measurable proof of the VENT 3’s performance. PEW Science recorded a composite Suppression Rating™ of 42.6 on its standard untuned 10.3-inch MK18 test host using Federal XM193 ammunition. In that test configuration, PEW Science documented strong combined muzzle and shooter-ear suppression along with low-back-pressure behavior, demonstrating the VENT 3’s ability to balance sound reduction and gas management on a demanding short-barreled 5.56 platform.

The VENT 3 is also designed around mounting flexibility. It includes a 1/2×28 direct-thread adapter and uses the industry-standard 1.375×24 HUB mounting interface, allowing shooters to configure the suppressor with a range of compatible mounting systems. In addition to 5.56×45mm, the VENT 3 supports 5.7×28mm within current PTR guidance and is rated for limited full-auto use within PTR’s specified firing schedule.
